Looking for a new computer
It's been a long time since I got a new computer. My current one was a birthday gift in 2005 OMG it was 2003 and has crashed twice, had two hard drives replaced, the touch pad has died, my music collection requires an external drive, and it's so frustratingly slow I can't take it any longer.

I worked really hard at scrubbing, patching, mopping, and dusting to ensure that I received my deposit back in full plus interest from my old apartment. And I had a pretty great landlord who obliged (no nightmares this time). So, I am going to use some of that money for my purchase.

On top of basic needs like wireless internet, I'd like something that is light and thin. A processor that can handle photoshop and dreamweaver, iTunes, and my firefox browser with never ending tabs all at once. It needs to have a DVD player and a CD writer. It also needs to be large enough to hold my music and photo library. And lots of USB ports are a plus. I don't want to spend more than $699 (almost $1000 less than my old one for so much more).

This one from TigerDirect is a possibility. It's smaller, but not tiny so the screen is a decent size. It's got a good processor and a very large hard drive for the size. Also, it comes with both Windows XP and Windows Vista. So, I can choose which one I'd rather use. It meets my needs for even less money.

Quick specs: HP Compaq 6735s FM841UT Notebook PC
AMD Turion X2 RM-72 2.1GHz Processor
3GB DDR2 Memory
320GB Hard Drive
DVD player and Rewrite drive
15.4" WXGA screen
Windows XP Pro and Vista Business Operating Systems
$599.99
