I think that in all relationships there is an initial negotiation of expectations, desires, likes, dislikes, and natural tendencies. At some point there is then a decision to love despite all of those things. And that choice is a very noble thing. The opposite choice--to abandon, reject, hate based on those aformentioned natural occurances--is very ignoble.
