Country Music pulls at my heartstrings. I know that it is not always quality, but it brings me comfort. It makes me want to have a family, with a garden, who enter things in the county fair. It reminds me of my childhood and listening to my mom sing along to the radio while she did laundry. It makes me feel like family. I also don't feel like I belong to it's cult of personality. I feel like I am an imposter. Not a true country fan cause I don't buy into the lifestyle. Somewhat how I feel about rap too. Like a big faker shakin it to "Must be the money." That's not my life.
I can relate to country. It feels real. Not pretencious. Also, how I feel about Democrats. At least local ones. A bunch of hard working, middle class folks trying to do good for the greater community.
