I finished Grandma Albrecht's Christmas present yesterday. I took images from the internet, printed and traced them on my towel. It has all the wonderful things about Grandma's kitchen: the amazing coffeecake, potato dumplings and pickle's she makes, her devotion to God and her hospitality (at all times but especially) during deer season. In retrospect, I would have put all the different images on separate towels, at first I had thought they'd be too small.
A few years ago she embroidered a whole seven day set of towels for me (that I use everyday), so I hope she likes this too.
I called her last Friday to get her recipe for bread and had just a lovely chat. I got all the gossip about who, out of my million cousins, is having a baby now. I love my Grandma.
