Anthony cut all his hair off and he's just as handsome as ever.
He's judging some Christian music competitions at Club 3°. He and a guest get in free, eat for free and get a prime seat. A fun night downtown Minneapolis for the price of parking.
It's finally warm and the sun is out and the idea of Spring is real. But I know that it's going to snow and go below zero again. Darn Spring you are such a tease. I do have the urge to go to salvation army for some cute yellow and navy spring clothes. To do that though, I really need to go through my closet and purge a bit.
I did a thorough cleaning of my house last weekend. It was in great need of it, as I have been neglecting it for a month or so. I swept and mopped all of the floors, vacuumed the rugs and the couch, dusted the flat surfaces, changed all the linens, scrubbed the sinks, tub and toilet, and tidied anything that was bugging me (i.e. the front door explosion of shoes and boots) as well as, my laundry. I was completely satisfied when I was done. Then, the next day I assisted Anthony in the same endeavor at his house.
I cooked for the first time in many days on Wednesday night. Anthony (who showed up with daisies and green carnations) helped me make a delicious pan of chicken stir fry with colorful peppers and brown rice. Also, I baked up some par-baked whole wheat bread that I love. Yummy, non-empty carbs.
On Saturday I plan to make a creme de menthe cake in honor of St. Patrick's Day. This is a super easy upgrade of regular white cake. It's just a cake mix with a little mint syrup to make it green, a layer of hot fudge and then cool whip with a little mint syrup. Instead of the regular 9x13 pan, I'm contemplating doing two round pans with some of the fudge in between the layers. Round cakes are just so much prettier (you never see Martha frosting a cake in a rectangular pan). And I have a handy round cake carrier that I picked up at a rummage sale last summer. Cupcakes would be cute too, but I think that would be a little too much work.
Holy week starts on Sunday! A week with five holidays - Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Let the Hallelujahs begin.
I'm loving my outfit today: purple tights, tall brown boots, a corduroy skirt and purple twinset.
