The landlord is great and follows all the rules. It's going to get a new coat of paint and we can move in June 1st. Hopefully, session and/or UMC Annual Conference doesn't conflict with this date.
Now, to start packing.
Since we've already had our renter's applications approved, it is really tempting to not pay our last month's rent...I can't remember if our deposit was less than one month's rent or not.
Our perfect apartment was too good to be true. Now, I have to pack up all my crap and move it again. Oy vey.
Where was I last night when the news (and weather) was on? I was cleaning my friends puke out of the backseat of my car. Right after my ex kissed me and told me that his girlfriend wasn't who he wanted to marry and would I come visit him in Shanghai at his new job? Omifreakingod. Did I not just get over him?
In other news, we passed the omnibus tax bill (with no roll call votes for me to record) and OUTSTANDING INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION (with a little income tax increase to pay for it). Thus, my new job description includes listening to angry taxpayers' (none of whom this increase actually applies to) voicemails (I've learned to screen, because I can't stop myself from explaining the rationale).
The real life parts, the in-your-face, touch-me parts of Holy week are the return of baseball, the beginning of open-toed shoes, the blossoming of the lilies picked up at church last week, the break in the legislative session, watching JC Superstar & the Prince of Egypt.
This week I also stumbled upon a beautiful online lenten calendar. A new watercolor everyday. They're super cool and pretty and I love it:
